DFV takes on Eidon, Leica

In New Zealand and Australia, Designs for Vision (DFV) has taken over distribution and service for Centervue products following the company’s acquisition by iCare, a division of Finnish healthcare technology company Revenio, and Leica Microsystems.

DFV product specialist Ralph Thompson said he was thrilled to be offering the new products, which included the now renamed iCare Eidon widefield truecolor confocal fundus imaging system. This is a good product that’s very popular, he said, combining multiple imaging modalities including truecolor, blue, red and red-free and infrared confocal images with widefield, ultra-high-resolution imaging that can image through cataract and media opacities with no dilation and no PC required.

In a separate announcement, David Boyd, Leica’s national sales manager, Australia, said he was excited to be embarking on a new partnership with DFV. “The collaboration of Leica Microsystems cutting-edge ophthalmic microscopes and the expertise Design for Vision have in serving the ophthalmic market gives me the confidence that our joint capability to delight our existing and future customers will reach even higher levels.”
