The Royal Australian and New Zealand College of Ophthalmologists (RANZCO) New Zealand branch annual scientific meeting is gearing up for a great weekend of learning and networking at the Cordis Hotel in Auckland from 17 to 18 May 2024.
The conference has convened 74 times, which is a testament to its relevance for delegates, speakers and sponsors, said committee chair Dr Yi Wei Goh. “The conference's success is attributed to a well-developed and thoughtful programme following a proven format of three plenary sessions and concurrent sessions for ophthalmologists and nurses.”
Themed ‘Challenges, controversies and change’, the scientific programme features world-class keynotes and more than 80 local speakers, focusing on cataract, glaucoma, oculoplastics and aesthetics, ergonomics, wellness and burnout. Presentations will range from five to 30 minutes, with longer sessions for keynotes. This year’s keynotes are Professor Uday Devgan (US), Dr Audrey Looi (Singapore), Associate Professor Simon Skalicky (Australia) and Liz Okely (Australia).
A separate half-day session for practice/business managers is being held on Saturday 18 May.
