The Tear Film & Ocular Surface Society (TFOS) is asking optometry practice owners what their current diagnosis and management approaches to dry eye are in a second survey linked to the TFOS dry eye workshop (DEWS II) follow-up studies. Participants are being asked to complete the short survey by 7 August 2023.
“You don’t need to declare a specific interest in dry eye to take part,” said Auckland University-based Professor Jennifer Craig, vice-chair of TFOS DEWSII and current chair of the TFOS Lifestye Epidemic workshop – we want to hear from everyone!”
The survey and resulting publications will be aimed at understanding and mapping current dry eye disease practice to compare with those in other countries and to inform future research by strengthening the evidence base, she said, especially regarding the best sequence of treatments based on severity and subclassification. “It's totally anonymous and should take about 10 minutes to complete. The research has been ethically approved through the University of Auckland. Thank you so much in advance for giving up your valuable time to be part of this global initiative!”
