Senior Clinic Administrator / Clinic Administrator

The University of Auckland is seeking a Senior Clinic Administrator and/or a Clinic Administrator supporting the University of Auckland Optometry Clinic within the Faculty of Medical and Health Sciences.

 

Playing a vital role in clinical service operations for our student-led teaching clinics, you’ll be responsible for patient support, administration, reception and daily tasks associated with running a busy, diverse clinic administration. Providing support to our Optometry clinic, you’ll enjoy a variety of tasks, diverse patient demographic and unique environment providing clinical services to patients while supporting students achieve their clinical competencies for course completion.

Responsibilities include:

  • Reception responsibilities.
  • Liaising with patients to provide information on our services.
  • Appointments scheduling/ diary maintenance for all our user groups.
  • Invoice and payment collection from patients.
  • Processing external claims
  • Processing Healthlink referrals to Te Whatu Ora/ other external agencies
  • Adhering to patient confidentiality protocols/ requirements.
  • Ensuring appropriate consenting and documentation is obtained prior to service delivery.
  • Supporting clinical groups to maintain and distribute clinical correspondence.

 

These are a full-time (37.5 hrs/wk) and permanent positions. Salary range for both: $50,700- $63,900 dependent on skills and experience. For more information, refer to: position description.

 

You will have experience in managing a busy administration/reception/customer-facing role. Plus:

  • Preferably experience in the health sector.
  • Experience with processing financial transactions.
  • Experience with patient management systems or similar.
  • Experience in managing multiply Optometry services
  • Proficient use of Microsoft office suite of programs.
  • A confident, clear phone manner.
