Mediworks Scansys Pro 3D anterior segment tomographer offers several key improvements over its predecessor, including crisper imaging, twice the data capture capability and expanded software functionalities, said Optimed’s Ignatios Koukouras at RANZCO 2025. “It's exciting because it is a high-definition Scheimpflug.”

For optometry, it can produce detailed elevation maps and widefield corneal scleral profiling, while for ophthalmology it helps analyse corneal aberrations that can influence intraocular lens (IOL) selection, he said. “This offers a much higher proportion of data points, so it’s a more comprehensive scan… It also offers detailed keratoconus screening using the total corneal analysis.”

With a complete suite of detailed displays, unlimited workstations and DICOM integration, the Scansys Pro offers expanded functionality for detailed anterior segment analysis and diagnosis. This includes up to 18mm corneoscleral diameter coverage, dynamic pupillometry and up to 100 Scheimpflug images and 662,400 data points in a single scan, said manufacturer Mediworks.

“It's simply comprehensive, total corneal analysis,” said Koukouras.
