Safilo Group is boosting its brand portfolio with the acquisition of Bollé Brands SPY+ and Serengeti, two iconic US brands operating in the sports and high-end eyewear segments.
The company said the transaction is in line with its previously outlined strategy, focused on the selective acquisition of brands capable of strengthening the group’s presence in high-growth segments and complementing its existing home brands Smith, Carrera, Polaroid and Blenders.
Serengeti, building on decades of brand history, will represent a key asset for Safilo in the high‑end eyewear segment, standing out for the excellence of its mineral lenses and a strong American heritage, the company said. “These elements support a distinctive and premium positioning at the intersection of luxury, innovation and performance.”
Together, SPY+ and Serengeti generated sales of approximately US$39 million (NZ$66m) in 2025. Completion remains subject to consultation with the relevant bodies and customary closing conditions.
New Zealand and Australian distributor Eyes Right Optical CEO Mark Wymond said more details about the potential impact of this deal will be available in July, after the deal’s completion.
